Hassan Tower is all that remains of an unfinished mosque begun eight centuries ago. As I understand it (though I could be wrong), the rest of the pillars were gathered from elsewhere in the city and brought here to make this monument.

At sundown, young and old couples gather on the side of the square that looks out on the Atlantic Ocean. Some of the young men bring guitars to serenade their girlfriends with. It's corny but sweet.
